The Renovated
White-Interior Barn

Originally built in the 1880s, we have elegantly transformed our 5,000 square foot barn into a charming, open-plan event space. The warm-white interior complements any decor and serves as a blank canvas for your dream wedding. We can accommodate up to 350 seated guests, but larger events can be held by special arrangement. The barn features heating and moveable doors to provide a beautiful indoor setting any time of day in all seasons.

  • A beautiful blend of modern style and vintage charm, our majestic event barn features a renovated warm-white interior and a rustic red exterior. Twelve ceiling-to-floor sliding doors encompass the open-plan space, while thirty-two skylights and ten tall windows let in ample natural light. The open pavilion architecture surrounded by our beautiful forested woodland and pond scenery brings the outside in to provide a truly enchanting setting for your wedding ceremony and reception.

  • Rain, shine, warm or cold, your wedding day at Ancestral Acres will be nothing short of spectacular. In inclement weather or at night, we can swiftly close all doors to make the barn a more comfortable, climate-controlled space. We have large fans to provide a nice breeze in the summer months and recently installed heat in the barn to keep you warm in early and late season events.

The Historic Queen Anne Mansion

Conveniently located only a short distance from our barn event space, our historic Queen Anne mansion is available for use during your wedding weekend and pre-wedding events. We can accommodate rehearsal dinners and wedding showers in our many entertainment spaces, and our third-floor ballroom is a beautiful setting for day-of preparations and intimate weddings. The six-bedroom lodge sleeps up to 22 guests for a convenient overnight or weekend stay.

  • The Queen Anne mansion boasts six Victorian bedrooms and one of the parlors can be converted into a temporary seventh bedroom for additional sleeping space. We allow up to 22 guests to stay overnight in the Lodge. A home away from home for your wedding party and guests, our grand estate features all the conveniences of a modern home. The main floor of our lodge boasts two parlors, a formal dining room, and a gourmet eat-in kitchen. Throughout the lodge, we have four full bathrooms equipped with modern features. The Queen Anne mansion is professionally sanitized between stays.

  • If you choose to book the lodge, the wedding party and close family will have access to the Queen Anne mansion for day-of-wedding preparations. Our third-floor bathroom has ample space for those who wish to get ready on-site, and we have four bathrooms conveniently located throughout the lodge. The bride can choose her own bridal suite.

  • We have several entertainment spaces throughout the Queen Anne mansion, including a formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, and spacious parlors. Convenient for both you and your guests, you can make use of these rooms for your pre-wedding events, a rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower.

  • Our vaulted 1,800 square foot third-floor ballroom is a dramatic choice for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception. We can accommodate up to 80 guests in this majestic gabled ballroom, and it’s available in all seasons.

The Expansive Private Grounds

Tucked away on 447 acres of beautiful forest preserve, Ancestral Acres is a serene countryside setting for your wedding. Our park-like lawns and charming ponds provide several scenic options for an outdoor ceremony and enchanting photography locations.

  • Surrounded by the sounds of nature and picturesque views as far as the eye can see, Ancestral Acres provides several dramatic outdoor settings for your ceremony. You can exchange your vows in front of our large picturesque pond, near the barn for a rustic setting, or on our two-acre lawn with a beautiful forest backdrop.

  • Nearly 450 acres, our natural forest preserve provides many unique backdrops for your wedding photography. The stunning Michigan scenery will beautifully complement your intimate "first look" moments, bridal party shenanigans, that "I do" kiss, and all of your wedding day photos. Near dusk, the estate sparkles in the natural light of the setting sun, and the reflections in the pond are truly magical. It will be picture perfect!

Barn Wedding Reception

Fridays and Saturdays start at $4,100 for up to 140 guests (max capacity is 330)

  • • Six to eight hour event with access to the venue from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm

    • Decoration and access to the Barn on Friday at noon and break down on Sunday by 10:00 am

    • Three 8 ft. banquet tables, two 8 ft. head tables, a gift table, cake table, and DJ table

    • Dining tables (60 in. round or 8 ft. rectangular, each seating 8) and deluxe white chairs

    • Luxury air-conditioned bathroom trailer

    • Wedding rehearsal and dinner on Friday evening in the Barn

    • Removal of decorations and clean-up by 10:00 am the morning after the event.

Ceremony & Barn Reception

Fridays and Saturdays start at $4,600 for up to 140 guests (max capacity is 330+ or more)

  • • Six to eight hour event with access to the venue from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm

  • • Check-in for our weekend package is 12:00 pm on Friday and check-out is 3:00 pm on Sunday

    • Check-in for our one-night package is 3:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am the next morning.

    • Includes 6 bedrooms and temporary parlor bedroom if needed.

    • Use of kitchen, dining rooms, common rooms, and parlors

    • Ballroom use available by special arrangement
